You need a Cooper's Hawk or two to make a visit. That would clear out the corn pickers.
Funny you say that. When I was out at my place yesterday, I had a bird of prey swoop in the pasture and go after a cardinal. It didn't get it, but it perched on a tree branch 30yds from me, waiting for another bird to slip up, and I was transfixed by its beauty as it scanned the pasture, waiting for the next opportunity.
Watched one nail a Meadowlark after a short twisting diving chase recently. They have snatched Cardinals in my back yard. I would rather they lay off the Cardinals, but they get what they get.
