This is what it's all about

Well with the end of the season upon us and school being out, we made the haul down to the lease in search of meat and horns.
My ten year old nephew is a great kid that loves to hunt and fish just like his dad, uncle, grandpa, and other mighty relatives who have gone on to the happy hunting grounds. He got a bad case of "doe fever" about this time last year and has been hunting hard since then looking for his first big game animal. He plays fall baseball so this was only his 2nd trip out this season.
Well, my blind seemed to be the hotspot this week. Being the good uncle that I am, I put him and my brother in my blind while I go to the next one down. Kaden tells me he feels like its going to be a lucky morning and that he is ready to "explode one's heart". You can't argue with that.
My brother texted me that 6 bucks just came through chasing the same doe. Before I can reply I hear the sharp crack-slap of his little Rossi .243 sing out. Onc
e I quit shaking I shoot a text to my brother. He replies 8. After what felt like forever he texts back "let's go get dog."
There is no blood at the spot he shot him, but my brother said the shot loked good. 40 yards and not a drop of blood later Belle finds him piled up in a cedar bush. Autopsy reports show buck died of top half of heart explosion via 85gr bullet.
A dang nice first deer for a dang good kid. Best part was that me, his dad, and his grandpa were all here to share the good times. Sorry for the long write up, but this is what it's all about.

Thanks guys I'm really proud of him. He probably opened the chest freezer about 50 times to look at the horns yesterday.
