    Live hunt Burnet co.

I tried my hand at bow hunting for the first time this year and love it!
But my lease has been slow..........had to switch to old trusty boom stick. Meat in freezer ........

Now I'm back on some trails with the bow till the end of season.
Spotted one heck of an 8pt on my cam and he begged me to take him with the bow!

So let's see if all this hard work and patience will pay off!

Nothing yet, but heard a near by squirrel sound pi$$ed off. Kind of like he was acting territorial. Maybe something moving slowly this way?

My grandpa was hunting on the other side of the lease and shot 2 fat does!
Just field dressed them and will hang them tonight.

This year has been the first year hunting with him. I grew up hunting with my other grandpa and he passed when I was 17. Had a 14 year gap since then. Picked it back up 2 years ago.

                    Feels great!

Where you at in Burnet Co? I just just East of town. It's been slow there for 3 years, but improves every year so far.

                        CR334, between Burnet and Oatmeal.
It was slow out there last year, got one.
This year the hogs have taken over on my main stand and just recently the deer have came back. Tonight I was hunting some heavily traveled trails with my bow.

He's been hunting a draw with hand corn. The deer bed there and head down the mountain to where I'm at, then to a water source.
Next year should be very promising. I'm learning their patterns now.

Nice area! My parents have a little place off of 330b, but it's all open and has very few deer. I love Burnet county!

Silly me, I thought bowhunting was tough.
