    Duck Meat

I shot some ducks on Sunday evening and put them in water in the fridge. How long will the meat stay good in the fridge? I would like to put some marinade and let them sit a couple of more days but do not want it to go bad.

Your good. Rub them, wrap them in bacon and grill. Or just do them like fried backstrap.

I've kept mine in the fridge for nearly 2 weeks before ( dry aging, not in water). Change your water out every day or so.

Depending on species, you might not be able to determine fresh from spoiled anyhow..... take for instance the bluebill I shot this morning!

Duck meat is very hardy and will last for a good while in the frig. I've eaten a lot of ducks and never used a special marinade for them, although opinions can obviously vary on that. I usually just try to let the breasts soak in salt water for a couple of days before cooking them, changing the water out at least once. This will tame the very strong gamey flavor and make it more enjoyable to eat.
