    TX CHL Processing Time

Trying to get a new CHL with Texas, sent in all the paperwork in early October. Called them in late Nov and they said processing was taking 6 weeks and it should be in soon. It's now almost January. Any of y'all having trouble getting a hold of them or it taking a long time to update status online?

the phone lines aren't letting people through, and they haven't replied to an email i sent over a week ago...

i assume this has to do with the holidays...BUT...i don't know how many days they were closed...seems silly to me...i know (because i tried calling) that they were closed the day after christmas...

    you're a state agency...at least have a skeleton crew...don't shut down completely...regulatory bodies don't get that option..but that's just my opinion...

I sent my renewal in 11/19 and still haven't gotten anything. My current expires 1/2/14, can I carry legally after that without new card?

It took 6 wks for me to get my CHL back; I tried to contact them after one month but found the same experience as you - hard to reach anyone and just 'form' email replies. But it eventually showed up in the mail...be patient but agree it can be frustrating.

Over 30 days now. No updates on website. I won't start complaining for another month.

beginning of November, then completed right before thanksgiving because they needed my dd214. the online process showed it was mailed out end of november and nothing has arrived yet.

Called yesterday...talked to someone. Said processing is taking up to 90 days at this time. Also told me it could be longer. Just FYI

Wife sent her paperwork in Sept. 24 and got her's before thanksgiving.
Have you checked the on-line staus and your spam box for a email from them ?

IT can take awhile due to the amount of people getting theirs. One tip if you send something in like that send it certified and it will cut the time in half atleast. I sent in my paper work in the mail certified and it took maybe 4 weeks to get mine in the mail.
