    Perplexing predators

We have coyote sign all over our place, they sound off in 360 degrees every evening & morning. I have been after them since Friday & I'm stumped.

I've called in the middle of the night, 1st light, middle of the day & dusk. I have used hand calls & electronic...... Nuthin! This morning I set up, get sat down & watch 3 step out 600 yds away. Hit the e-caller & watch them sit on the haunches, peer my direction, & finally slink off back into the thicket.

What gives? Either food is easier to get than it used to be, or I'm the unluckiest predator hunter ever!

Take scent as serious as whitetail if you want them close and maybe try decoy as well

Hang one of them cheap 5 gallon feeders in a bush and fill it with cat food. Nail sardine cans on the trees in strategic locations.

They get call shy very easily and fast.

How far out was the decoy/caller? They will circle downwind before coming in, especially if they've been educated. They are probably coming in behind you.

I know this is true. These dogs headed in the opposite direction of me (into the wind)
