Need help! I have an Erection Problem

at my ranch i need to move a deer blind to another area but dont have anyone to help me. How can i move it to another area without killing myself? This deer blind is 15ft tall and heavy pipe. I do have a 16ft trailer to transport it to the other side of the ranch but dont know how to get it back up.

oh i also need to let it down without destroying it. I tried one time before with another blind that was destroyed getting it to the ground.

One idea my cousin used was scaffolding and a hoist. Worked well for a big ten foot stand they took down. I have a heavy 12' stand I will setup next year using the same approach.

You need 2 folks with vehicles. One to pull it over & one to keep a taught rope on it to keep it from crashing. Be sure to stake down the pivoting legs so they don't slip.

To set it back up, reverse the procedure.

BUT... be sure to have enough rope/distance incase that suckers falls over... it won't tear up a truck or injur anyone.

        Where bouts are you?

I've done it several times by myself but you need to be half construction worker and half cowboy. Make a double loop around the bumper of the truck and push the thing over till it just reaches the apex of falling over. Hold the rope and tie it off on the bumper and let it down with the truck.

best case scenario it falls and breaks in to 100 pieces. worst case you are underneath it and you break in to 100 pieces.

              How about that for pesimism(sp)???

I move them in the same manner as huntindad said have three towers that are 20 ft tall. lower them with one vehicle with the trailer and keep taunt with another. When reaching apex back trailer under tower and let down with the one holding it taunt.

Not sure if you have to lay it down if there are no trees on the journey. If the low boy is low enough you can jack up one side and block it up away from the edge. Back the trailer under and the come a long it onto the trailer. Chain it down and move it to the new site. Chain off to a tree and ease out from under it then drag it slowly to final position. You can put pipe under it to help it move easier onto and off the trailer.

if your moving it on your place a tractor is the easiest way just hook a chain around the base of the stand where the tower meets and lift it up and tilt your bucket backwards. Then take off. That's how we move ours around our place. if you dont have that then the pickup let down method is by far the safest and best way

If you have a wench on the front of the truck (the kind with a cable not the female version) use it. We do that. Be sure to secure the two pivoting legs so they don't kick out on you when it's going down, do it loosely though so it doesn't bend or break the legs. Repeat process to erect it at the new site.
