Question about out of state hunters ed?

My wife is from Indiana and took hunters ed up there. Does she need to retake it down here to get her tx hunting license?

As long as she can provide documentation, she should not have to re-take it. I didn't coming from LA, just showed my hunter ed card and was good-to-go.

Check with TPWD. They have reciprocity agreements with certains states about hunter's ed.

I know when I hunted in Colorado and Wyoming I took hunter's ed in Texas and it was excepted.

Texas accepted my OOS hunters ed card....in fact Idaho accepted my TX license as being qualified to possess their non Resident license

This is from the TPWD website....

I took Hunter Education in another state. Do I still need to take the Texas course?

No, Texas recognizes Hunter Education certificates from all other states and provinces. You will need to carry a proof of that certification on your person while hunting in Texas. We cannot duplicate Hunter Education certification from other states and provinces, you will need to contact the agency that regulates Hunter Education in that state.

The Hunters ed should work but she doesn't need it to buy a license. Nobody needs hunters ed to BUY a license. Only to hunt.
