    Finding Land Owners Info

Hey Guys, I am trying to find out info on a certian piece of property. I know it isnt leased as of now and would like to get in touch with the land owner to see if he would lease it. I spoke with a few neighbors around the property and the only info was that the owner lives in austin. I was just wondering if there was a way to look up the landowner just by knowing what piece of property it is.

Many times the County Courthouses have maps that show owners and legal descriptions. If you only have last name and legal description, you can use the county CAD website and search for the property in question. I hope this helps you.

If you have a friend or family that is a "Landman" then ask them to do it.

Some counties CAD website actually has a map where you can click on the property and the info pops up.
Total acreage, book/volume/page where the deed is filed, owner's name and address are often all listed.

It's actually a little creepy how easy it is.

If you have a gps, you can get an app from Huntinggpsmaps. com that shows the owner and boundaries.

Landman will have to go to the local courthouse and dig through the paperwork to figure it out.. then it doesn't just have phone numbers he'll have to try to figure out how to get in touch with that person.

It's a bit of work if the guy doesn't live close. Prepare to pay him.

The County appraisal district will have a tax map that shows who is paying taxes on every square foot of taxable land. The County courthouse is where the owners deed is filed for record. Many times, both agencies have info available online.

It is not too hard to go down to the tax appraisal office and do it yourself. Sometimes the people working there will help you out.

County Tax Office. If it's been the same land owner a long time, the ladies working there might now from memory. Seen it happen.
