Just thought I'd share
It was the night before Christmas
And the clouds were all aglow
Down upon the village
The houses covered with snow
Though the night was cold
And the moon shown up above
The church bells rang a song
Of peace and joy and love
All the village asleep
With each one cuddled so near
How good it was for each
To have the one so dear
A stranger knocked upon my porch
I could not see his face
Though it be brightly tourched
I asked him but his name
But that he did not say
Just a lonely beggar
On the eve of his birthday
I did not trust this man
As he beg me for some bread
For he was but a stranger
His cloak shrouded about his head
Do not forsake me he pleaded
As I closed my door
But when I turned to look back at him
He was there no more.
