Pistol scope setup?

I'm setting up my .44 Ruger Redhawk with a scope and been studying an reading up on different scopes and have looked at some also. Got my eye on a Leupold FX2 4x right now but $400 is steep:0
Any info would be appreciated.

First off that .44 is going to have some bark, a cheap scope might wind up having parts laying at your feet. I would think Leupold makes a pistol scope a tad cheaper than $400, good luck.
