I had the pleasure of skinning this buck. I told JDL that if I had to age him by his teeth and that alone I would call him 7.5, but having skinned him and being able to see all of his features and taking everything into consideration I believe his teeth show him on the low side. I could be wrong but my honest opinion this buck is around 9 or so, his body and face just screamed ancient...

I would say 6, maybe 7 off those teeth. Obviously that 4th is very worn but the others not so much. But I put more stock in body characteristics, behavior, and HISTORY more than teeth.

Cool. Well history is one thing we don't have with this deer. He just showed up out of no where.

Depends on the area that he came out of. Lots of rock or sand in the area and his teeth wear out faster.
