    Duck Hunting in SETX

Anyone been doing any good? I been going with my brother and it has been REAL slow. Grew up ducki hunting around here and when I was a kid in the late 70 and on into my teenage years in the 80's it was pretty good. Have lots of pics back then of hunts with limits or near limits with lots of greenheads. Now were lucky to get a few teal or greys if even that. Just got back into duck hunting after a long break.

Friends of mine are doing good in Winnie. I've been wanting to try the nelda stark unit. It's right by my house. You ever try it?

The ducks jumped up and left with that front last Sunday. Just hope we get more to replace them in the next few days. The fronts have blew in alot lot of birds this year, unfortunately they have been jumping right up within the next 12 Hrs and riding the same front out of here. Never seen it happen this much in one year. Also your not going to kill green heads like you did back then, there's just not as many making it this far south anymore.

Some friends and I hunted it years ago but we never did decent unless it was near freezing temps. With that being said I live less than a mile from it as the crow flies and have been hearing several shots from that direction recently.

It was really slow on Tuesday, I'll be out again tomorrow to give it a try.

Same here I built a house down Bessie heights on the marsh side. I've walked down there but never hunted

Never hunted it, but were not to far from it. Were hunting on the Neches River Sportsman club. Not inside the freshwater impoundment but outside on the river side.

Back in the "old days", I earlier refferred too, we had a lease in the Sabine River. It was Pavell Island.

Sounding like this weather might have helped. I should have went hunting this morning, hard to kill em when you sleep til 9:30. I noticed the tide was back with a vengence. South wind had it pushed up in the marsh really good, thats one problem we have had lately. Very little water = very little birds.
