Going to get my daughter a pair and myself. Seen the ones for 100.00 at academy,hope we never need them but land owner in coleman says there are a lot on our place. Rattle snakes.

I have them and wouldn't buy them again. First, I have to put a blister patch on before I go walking in them, and to make them comfortable I replaced the inserts that came with them.

The only reason I bought them was because I was in a hurry, and didn't want to make a drive to Cabela's.

I got them a year ago and this is the last season I'm going to wear them. I will go with something new next year.

The brands that keep coming up with positive reviews have been Chippewa's, Danner, and Rocky.

Cabela's has some Rocky's on sale now ($89), and I think its still free shipping.

I bought mine at BP, went and tried on the cheap ones and could tell they would kill my feet if I wore them all day. It hurt the pocket book but I spent the money on the ones that fit the best and then got a size wider so I would have plenty of room for thick socks.

Both my boys wear the same Red Head boots and I feel better knowing we all have them on.

I have a pair of the academy snake boots and wear them every time I'm in the woods, I love them. Never been bit through them but I love mine.

Buy something good!
I made a mistake on buying some cheap ones the first time... Never even used them ... They sucked!!! Hated them!!! So make sure you get something good, look at reviews online...

I also hunt in Red Head boots. They are more comfortable than the Rocky's IMO. I went on a draw hunt this past November at Old Sabine Bottom and the parcel that we drew was an ATV spot. Had to hike a mile and a half each way through spots that had water half way up my boots. Never leaked a drop. I'll admit, I was pretty nervous the first day because I didn't know if they would keep my feet dry. I would recommend them to anybody!

Ive had the rexhead lace ups and tgey were great boots. But next time i will have zip ups.

I just saw online academy has wolverine viper snake boots for 139.99 they zip up the side. Got gift cards for bday.

I've been wearing a pair of Academy snake boots ( Magellan brand ) for 7 years. No problems with them and mine are comfortable too.
Haven't "field tested" them and hope I never do cause I'd never be able to get the poo smell off of them!

Had a pair, they wore fine, but only lasted a season. Got Red Heads, zip sides From BPS and they are great.
