Mine has had several thousands of rounds fired through it. The button on the right side to release the bolt and close the chamber has stopped working. For the last year or so it has been really hard to push, the point to where I always hit it with a shotgun shell the close the chamber. Well now it has to be nearly hit with a hammer to close it. Has anyone had this before? Just wondering if it's something I can fix or if I need to take to a gunsmith and be without it for the rest of the season.

Nathan, that is the cartridge drop lever. If you remove your trigger assembly does the cartridge drop lever move freely? If so, the problem may be your carrier latch. If it doesn't move freely &/or is frozen, replacing it would be an easy job. Go to one or both of the links below & you should be able to figure out what you need.
Download our growing collection of firearms schematics including AR15s upper and lower receivers, pistols, and shotguns.
