Is there a way to see if PM's have been read? If not, is this an option that could be added?

No but you can tell if when the last time they've logged in.

Not at all, but when I started this thread I did think that a "read message" feature could help with some of the bad classifieds deals.

I think a lot of people (especially the classifieds commandos that mostly browse and post there) never set up the option to have a popup message appear showing they have a PM. They don't set up email notification. So unless they remember to check their PMs they don't see it.

Yeah. On my phone Tapatalk checks my subscriptions and PMs every 30mins and sends a notification. And if I'm on the computer a box pops up when I get a new PM
