So a few years ago my neighbor puts up this high fence along the backside of his property, every time I’d drive by the area I’d see a ton of coons and squirrels so it seemed like an awesome spot for a hanging feeder.
I used to have a bunch of stands and feeders right there on his property line before the fence went up, he had some killer 8 points that were a solid 115” that we used to shoot as they came off of his land.
At first I thought about hanging a feeder there, but I didn’t want him to think I would shoot something on his side and then cut the fence to get to it, I also didn’t want him to think I would be shooting into his area. I do know that hogs on either side would be tearing it up though and could possibly tear up the fence trying to get to the corn.
I know the fence is 100% on his side and he and I never did split any of the cost of the fence, that would be an absurd assumption. So I figured I’d just sit and “view the wildlife” in one of the best hunting areas in the State.
I think it would be a great “Learning Tool” for me and my son to come over and watch all of my neighbors big deer that he has been managing for several years now since we shot almost all of ours out, we do have some rockin’ 110” 8 points I’m going to let loose on this year though.
I’m so sure that he won’t mind us just viewing his deer, that I tied my feeder off to his fence that he paid for. I was going to ask if he wanted to fill it for me when I am not there since it was such a small feeder, but now someone has cut the rope and it fell to the ground. I know it couldn’t have been my neighbor because he shouldn’t have minded that I set it up on his fence, tied it to his fence. I mean those fences are cheap right? Must have been some “illegals, I hear there a bunch of them in this area.
I’m thinking the best way to anchor it now is to drive a stake in the ground and hoist it up that way ?
What do you think ?
