    Continuing Education Welding Classes

Eastfield College is offering a continuing education welding course. The course is 7 weeks long, meets once a week (on Saturdays) for six hours each class.

The course covers welding safety, oxy/acetylene , MIG, TIG, arc and plasma cutting.

    Cost is $250 plus PPE.

I haven't welded since high school shop class and I'm seriously thinking of taking this course. I also like that at the end, you're encouraged to bring you own project. I have a BBQ pit I'd like to do some work on.

Has anyone else taken this class or similar? Was it worth it?

I took one in San Antonio at a high school {continuing education}was ok but tried to cover too many types of welding processes in the time of the course. went back to A community college and took the smaw {stick welding} and learned one process basics much better

Might check it out. I weld very little when growing up but ran the cutting torch all the time. Wanting to learn again since I got to build a fence at my house this year.

To be honest, not a whole lot of time there to do a lot of good. For starters, a class should start off with a basic stick rod then Mig. These are the 2 processes most people use at home or farm.
          Just my thoughts.
