    Go Pro

I've been thinking about hooking up my Go Pro to my bow. Has anyone done this? If so can you send me a picture or suggestions on placement.

The big question does this mess up your shot placement?

No. Does it take good video when you shoot? Not really.

I am ticked at mine as the battery life on both is horrible.

I bought a piece of 1" x 1/8" flat bar aluminum. Drilled a hole for stabilizer came about 1/2" above stabilizer bent it at 45 degrees went about 1/2" and bent another 45 angle to make it run parallel with stabilizer. Cut it to length of stablizer. Drilled hole for gopro/camera mount. Got a 1/4 thumb screw and ran it from bottom up through mounting bar. Placed a screw lock on screw so it would not fall out. I also had to use some spacer washers to get screw correct length. I'm traveling and don't have pics but can send next week. I use it also for my regular video camera. Never has effectedy shooting

No matter how good the mount looks the cam always jumps at the shot, I prefer wearing the camera on my cap`s bill attached by a screw

i put mine on with a bowfinger 2.0, can mount several different ways. w/ stabilizer...in place of stabilizer, or clamped to your riser.

No matter how you attach the GoPro it will not be great video at the shot. It's better to attach it to you or something else stable like PR mentioned. I was in the process of making a setup like Bearkat suggests for my old iPhone when I got the GoPro. Seemed like a solid idea. There is also a clamp you can buy that would attach to your stabilizer and the camera. I don't have one so I can't say for sure if it would work correctly but the theory is sound (in my head at least).

The go pro has excellent video quality, but it wasn't designed to replace a traditional video camera. For hunting purposes the gopro works best as a secondary camera pointed back at the hunter. If you are trying to capture kill shots while mounted to your bow you will be disappointed. Because it's a wide angle lends it will make a 20 yd shot look like a 60 yd shot.

Here is a video I made using a traditional video camera and a gopro that is mounted on my bow, but facing me.

Here's another video from someone who is much better than me that shows excellent use of a gopro. He is using a gopro and a dslr.

Sorry, we couldn’t find that page

The GoPro 3+ allows you to narrow the field of view and by doing that it zooms in slightly. The video I posted is from the Hero3 silver. I have my Hero 3+ with me and I will try to post some examples of the different field if view settings

I agree that gopro is not good for the shot. I built my mount for it and then ended mounting regular camera for the shot. I mount gopro to riser using the handlebar connector. If hunting fromy popup I mount gopro on side of popup using a Gorlliapod that wraps around the popup supports. I it is also good for attaching to limbs close to the feeder to get the shot from different perspective.

I use my Hero 3+ as a remote camera that I operate by wifi with my phone. The battery lasts longer than the older models.
