Guys/Gals Im looking for suggestions on a setup next year. Ive noticed that the majority of the deer I see while rifle hunting (aprox. 275 yrds in the direction of the yellow arrow) cross in the areas highlighted by the red arrows. This area was clear cut about a year ago and it seemed to really help as far as the amount of deer ive seen this year (only three sits that i didnt see a deer. pretty good for east texas i suppose). So it has alot of under brush but no trees to use as cover. Id like to put a more permanent blind right were the red square is. Was thinking maybe a box blind covered with the dead looking grass that the duck hunters use. Any suggestions GS?

You need to think about wind direction, especially in a ground blind. I can't tell from the pic, but if there is some sort of barrier somewhere that would prevent deer from traveling downwind of the ground blind, then use that to your advantage if at all possible.
2nd pic looks pretty flat and open, so it will be impossible to keep deer from circling downwind of a popup. I've tried ozone machines this year in that situation, and I've had more success than pre-ozone.

What Shane said is 100%. Ozonics flat out WORKS! We've been blown away by its performance in popups this year. If you're able to put a permanent blind in there, get a Krivo and keep your scent largely contained. Put it out right after this season ends, spray paint a little pattern on it and you'll be GTG next October. They'll be totally used to it.

There is a Double Bull in the middle of this:

Camoflage or brush isn't important as long as you put the blind out at least 2-3 weeks before you start hunting. Pour corn all around it when you put it out and whenever you check camera cards, etc. Deer will make friends with the blind pretty quick if they eat corn next to it. You don't have to brush in a big protein feeder. Scent elimination is the critical factor. If they smell you, it's over.
