In the summer, it also works great to keep it cool enough inside when she wants out of the sun.
I will also say that Mud River makes some really neat products for your dog. I also have one of their dog blankets to put in the back seat of my crew can. It really helps to keep the hair and dirt from getting all over the truck upholstery.
Which plastic kennels do yall have?

They look very sturdy but there are a couple of things I don't. It looks like it would be a pita to clean due to it being one solid unit. There also isn't many holes for airflow.

Im either going with ruff tough or the vari kennel...
I've only looked at them in cabela's - they look nice, but wouldn't work for us.

Right now, I've got three kennels in the rv. One wire and two varikennels (or something similar)

and Academy is now selling a camo version of the Ruffmaxx, so we HAD to buy one of those.....

I have the camo one now. 2 major problems:

The screws that hold the 2 pieces together are a major pain

The lip where you connect the 2 pieces are already cracking in a few places.

          yep.

          no doubt....those screws suck.

build a better system and the dog world will beat a path to your door......

do you leave your kennel outside?

Only when it's in transit. It's either in the house or garage 95% of the time.

I have a collapsible Kong crate. It's very durable and had two doors. One of the long sides folds up like a big garage door. It's awesome.

for kennel training, we used a kennel just big enough for him to turn around and lay down in.. worked great. he also learned the word QUIET at this time.

                  I like the wire myself.
I have 2 labs both weigh about 60# each.
We got an XL collapsible wire kennel. You can move the back wall closer to the door when they are a puppy. Helps with house training. As they get bigger you can move the wall back. I had a plastic kennel. I like it at first but after the dogs have been in the water all day the plastic traps the water inside the kennel and keeps the dog wet.
If its cool or cold out it can increase the chance of hypothermia.

                    Yes.
We could make our wire crate smaller by moving the back wall forward.

If you can't move the wall make one. Leave the dog just enough room to lay down.

My make still sleeps in the Mud a Room where his crate used to be. I think he misses it.....
