I really like my smooth mods on mine. You only lose about 5-6 fps and it makes it ultra silky.

To answer your question it probably came with speed mods. You can find smooths. They cost around 20-25 or if your pro shop has a set they might change them out for you free of charge.
    I'm a 28", but I really appreciate the offer!

I didn't realize DaveC had that exact bow. I think he has the smooth mods on his, and those arrows were moving when he shot. I think even with the smooth mods, the bow is going to shoot leaps and bounds above what mine will now. I bet my current bow is shooting 230 -220 or so.... it's dog slow, and drops like a rock past 30 yards.

Mesquite, just curious but how loaded down is your string?

I know my #'s were questioned last year so I flung a few through the chrony today to refresh my memory and got 269, 271, 272, 272 fps.

That is 61# (might be 62- my scale is old- I ordered the bow at 62 & it took a while to get it), 29" draw, smooth mods & 285 gr arra w/ 100 gr tip= 385.

The string has no peep, a small loop, 3 brass nocks at the bottom, 3 at top w/ a bowjax. 2 dots showing on each cam at rest.

Not sure what changes were made between 2006 & 2007, but now I see why you found my numbers hard to believe.

FWIW, I want to say my speed mods yielded 7-9 fps- but that was a few FPS I was willing to give up for the feel of the draw w/ the smooths. My shoulders & elbows will thank me one day

So did you get it Kyle?

              Dave/rOCKY,

Are yall saying mine is shooting slow or to fast??? my Chrony is old but from what I can tell pretty consistent.

Im shooting 61# with smooth mods and 345 grain total arrow weight 245 grain arrow and 100 grain head. Im shooting a lighter arrow so I Should only get a couple more fps. 275 is the norm on mine with smooth mods 277 is my best chrono. i Have a peep, loop and one sims leach.

I was thinking if I shot your arrow through my bow I should see more than 277 on the chrony.

I forgot the math off hand but a Google search has provided every 5 gr= 1 to 2 fps. If that is correct-
Your 345 gr arrow should shoot 8-16fps faster than my 272.

I guess I need to make me a 345er and find out.

If the low end of 8 fps for 40 grains is correct then your peep might be all that is standing bewteen our speeds. Plus the fact that we both have old chronies which could each have their own deviation from the truth.

Not as off as I originally thought, my bad.

Great bow no matter what the digits say....

I've got an 06 and just recently put the 80 lb limbs on to go to Africa with. I'm chunkin the heavy 11.2/inch FMJ's with 125gr tips on em 288 to 292 fps. Total weight is 440 gr on the arrows and it's thumpin em in! I like the fact that you can swap limbs for different weights too. Dave Leining at SFAA helped set it up and it's dead on man! He tweaked his with 100lblimbs for big five game & it's awesome !! You'll like it a lot!

MC- I haven't done the math so I can't say-
Smooth mods are ABOUT 7-9 fps slower on the Tribute.
                          1 inch of draw= 8-10 fps
                          30 grains of arrow= ABOUT 10 fps
                          1 LB of draw weight= 2 fps
Compare to mine, these #'s are correct.

the allegiance, the allegiance being slightly faster was about it... I have the allegiance and would not trade it for anything. I love the speed and how I can shoot 30 yards with my 20 yard pin and hardley even raise my site.

Looking at the bowtech bows today, and they have last year's tribute on sale for $599. There aren't many dealers up here in Tyler, and the other one is closed until the 16th of june.

The guy told me the tribute is similar to the allegiance, the allegiance being slightly faster was about it...

Anyone have this bow, and how do you like it?

I shot it, and it seems like a great bow. I've also shot the drenalin, switchback, and a hoyt (something).

the problem is, I'm comparing this new technology to my old ****, and everything I shoot seems great.

                              any tips?
Kyle1974-we met when you picked up the feeder and I highly recommend Brian at Bucks and Ducks. He will let you shoot the bows and he will fine tune it to the tee with no problems.

This is why I drive from Conroe, TX to Tyler, TX to have all 3 of my Bowtech Equalizers tuned by him. I have been to several local Pro shops in the Houston area but he is the best by far. He believes in precision tuning and you will not be disappointed in his work.

The last time I was there in May having my newest Equalizer tuned, a young man came in that had been to 3 other pro shops and had been told that he needed a new bow because there was nothing else that could be done to fix his bow. He was pretty upset and obviously not ready to invest in a new bow.

I watched Brian within a matter of about 15-20 minutes "precision" tune this bow and this young man was able to shoot groups out to 50 yards, which the other pro shops had told him would not be possible.

Needless to say, another pleased customer and another customer that will drive despite the rising cost of fuel prices for the best and most precision tuning when other pro shops have just thrown their hands up and said "there is nothing else I can do" "you need a new bow".

I have an '07 tribute and probably won't buy another compound unless this one explodes. It's too fast, too quiet, too easy to shoot to consider an upgrade. The animals don't like it, so I do!
