Cell phone providers in West Texas?

I'm getting fed up with AT&T and all the ridiculous price increases. I've been with them for 20 years (Cingular at first), because their coverage was the best, especially out in the country. But I'm ready to pay a penalty and leave if I can find a better deal somewhere else.

Before I dig in and analyze every competitor's plans, I thought I'd ask here to see if anybody already has it figured out. Where is the best deal for a family with unlimited talk and text and shared data that will give you a signal out in the country?

I was in shoes awhile back as well with AT&T but just couldnt find a deal to beat what I have with AT&T. We have 2 phones both unlimited data, unlimited text, unlimited mobile to mobile, unlimited night and weekends with 700 minutes a month. But we hardly ever use or minutes so now we have like 5000 roll over minutes. Also get 15% through my employer.

You might try and call them and talk to a supervisor about your price reduction or discount. 20 years is a long time we have had them for about 10 years now.

You can switch to Straight Talk. It uses the same towers as AT&T, so you would be able to use your current phone and shouldn't see any change in phone reception, plus it's $45 a month for everything. They don't require a contract either. A buddy of mine changed and really likes it.

I got sprint but I'm changing to t mobil simply for using it out of the country. I had to down load an app so I could send texts while I'm in Cozumel but I couldn't call the airlines when my flight home got cancelled

Also, looks like Straight Talk has international plans as well. As soon as Sprint lets me out of my contract, I'm switching...

I have had ATT and Sprint (current). I used to complain about ATT, but they dominate Sprint.

I had att for 10 years up in the panhandle, after moving to Midland we got verizon. I think they all have their faults but i would never go back to att after using verizon.

Dang. I thought mine was high. I have 4 lines (2 w/internet), and I pay $190/month tax and all - $155/month before tax and gov't fees. I get about $19.50/month discount through my employer. It's supposed to be 23%, but it's only 23% of a couple of the charges, not of the whole bill. It amounts to about 12% of the whole bill. Better than nothing.

My $190/month is $47.50 per line. Even the StraightTalk $45/month plus tax deal would end up being a little higher than that. It just ticks me off that a stupid cell phone bill has gotten to be so expensive. Stupid smart phones.

Out here, Verizon is the way to go. Nothing cheap about it but their coverage is best.....until I get to my deer lease. AT&T is better up there. Nobody has great coverage everywhere. Cell phones have become a necessity these days. What did we do 20yrs ago?

190/m for 4 phones isn't bad at all. mine was 175/m for 2 phones. I switched to tmobile to save some money but the service was non existent where I hunt so next month im changing to net 10 prepaid. uses att towers, unlimited. 4 phones would be 155/m I think

I too used AT&T wireless service for many years (since the Southwestern Bell days with the bulky phones and prior to "Cingular"). I've been using Verizon for the past few years and could not be happier. I hunt in NW Texas (King and Knox Counties), and the reception has been great as well.

Verizon has the broadest coverage of any company, especially when you get away from the big cities and interstates. At the ranch in West Texas, my hunters are always borrowing my phone because ATT and Sprint don't work
