Road conditions- DFW to TX/OK line

Anyone have any updates? I'm supposed to travel to Kansas this afternoon but have decided to wait until tomorrow morning due to current conditions between Lewisville area to OK line. The weather between KS line and my final destination doesn't seem to good either.

Any updates on 35 traffic/raod conditions I'd sure appreciate the help... I'll check this thread tonight and in the morning to see updates...

    Thanks in advance...

Everything I've seen is that it is still very slow going, as you'll be driving into the ice storm's path. Many disabled vehicles, some out of gas, blocking the roads. Also, read that many gas stations and truck stops are out of supplies because they can't get trucks in to restock.

Good luck regardless when you go. But be prepared to spend some time on the road, maybe even overnight somewhere, so bring extra items like a sleeping bag, head lamps, flashlights, batteries, food, water,... And good luck with your hunt!

I'm most concerned about roadway between Lewisville and OK/TX line. Oklahoma and Kansas prepare the roads with de-icer and clean them off when the storm passes...unlike DFW area makes an "ice task force" to clear the roads!!!

Yeah I looked at this site earlier but was concerned about the trucks sitting in the roadway and number of disabled vehicles that would make the road unable to pass...

              Thanks again!

Might want to check with oklahoma highway patrol. Theyve had tge majority of the northbound crossings closed.

35 around Lake Dallas/Corinth was moving pretty good just north of the lake. Did see a truck spun out on a bridge just north of swisher rd on southbound side about an hour ago not causing much delay.

You should be good by tomorrow. My wife and her friend are heading south on 35 right now. They said it is slow but no problems. They also said that the north bound side appears to be moving along at a slightly slower pace than them. They are coming from Marietta O.K. and they estimate the trip from there to Ennis to be around 5 to 6 hours.

Anyone have any recent experience with 35 northbound from the split to OK line?

                        Headed out in the morning...
