    Effect on Ducks

    Well..

Supposed to go duck hunting tomorrow. Have about an hour drive that will probably turn into two or more hours if I go. What do you all think this sleet and ice will do to the ducks? I know I'll have to break up some ice to put decoys out but do you think it will be worth it? One thing I'm hoping for is some mallards being pushed down to us due to this weather.

They are all over the place in Coleman county. Lots of ducks in erath county yesterday as well, but no green yet.

I'm close to Erath. Hunt around Brazos Point near Glen Rose. We've taken over a 100 ducks this year so far and haven't seen one mallard. Widgeons, green winged teal, pintails, gadwalls, few spoon bills but no mallards.

This stuff doesn't affect the ducks too much at all. Some of the best duck hunts I've been on has been in weather like this.

It should be bringing them in but this morning there wasn't any new ducks.

this cold weather might push them down. I have sen more mallards this week than I have in the last few years.
