This thing is AWESOME! I used to use the hand crank style grinder that my grandmother had. Grind a little, stop, open, clean, repeat. This #8 grinds up quick and easy. Well worth the money.
If your debating the purchase, Do It. This saves a whole lot of time. I could probably only get maybe 3 pounds per hour with the hand grinder, because of all the stopping and cleaning. The LEM grinder can grind out the meat as fast as you can put it in there. I did not have to stop at all until I was done. The specs say 6 pounds per minute and I truly believe it.
Ive been using the #8 for about 10 years now, they work great and stuff sausage too ! Helps if you rid the meat of all the silver muscle lining before the grind, but I always end up with some wrapped around the shaft anyway. For a hundred bucks you cant beat it!
