Passport question??

I will be going to South Africa in July. I found some tickets pretty cheap but, I don't have a passport yet. Can I still buy the tickets before I have my passport?

Yes you can, did the same thing 2 years ago. just dont wait till the last minute to get your passport

The passport process is getting faster, but buy your tickets as mentioned and get on the passport NOW! Murphy's Law, don't wait until the last minute.

Something to think about -

When My wife got her passport she went to Huntsville (post office I think) and it took about a month and a half to come in.
I went a week after her, but I went to the county courthouse over in Centerville. They took my pictures, processed all the paperwork and I was in and out in under 30 minutes. I got my passport in a week before my wife did!

I dont know if going to a small town place that is never very busy had anything to do with it or not, but my process was quite a bit faster by going to small town route.
