    Weather vs solunar tables?

The solunar tables for the Lufkin area are really just showing Friday afternoon near dusk as being the only potentially decent time this weekend. Then we have this front coming though, which I don't think the solunar tables account for or are adjusted for. So any thoughts on how all this works together? Do the tables just offer a potential baseline then you go on the weather and immediate local conditions, or do you try to take it all into account or what?

My general strategy is I can't kill a deer if my butt ain't in the woods, but I am trying to focus it a little more to try and improve my chances.

    Any thoughts?

I try and hunt what I call the hunter's moon, moon at 10:00am at sunset, and a steady wind.

We use solunar tables a lot when we're hunting in predator calling contests. It is our experience that a significant weather event will trump what the solunar table says. For instance, if the table says that noon is an active feeding time, but the wind is blowing 40mph, it's going to keep most critters bedded down for a while.

        This

The table is just another tool. Weather and pressure need to be factored in as well.

Ok thanks! Looks like this front is definitely bringing some wind

I agree, I base all of my time in the woods per the tables and wind direction. If you're hunting farm areas, once they're harvested that changes sightings as well.

I read an article years ago about barometric pressure and deer movement: 29.80" - 30.00" = good, 30.00" - 30.40" = great. I've gone over trail cam pics and the majority of them are during the "feeding" times but nearly all of them occur with the above BP ranges.
