Offshore Fisherman: What is a B-Liner

We caught a mess of what the captain was calling "B-liners". Just now cooked a few up and "WOW", the are some good eating! The meat looks a lot like Snapper but not sure what they are..>Can anyone tell me?

UNless you can identify them by the meat...no pics! Ken and Smart pegged it..A Vermillion Snapper

Found one the net, it's the one on top!
Bag limit is 20 on these puppies, and I think I like them better than Red Snapper.

When and were did you go on the trip? I also went out on a party boat this week on Monday with Capt. Elliots. I dont know if you were on the same trip as me but we caught the heck out of them B-Liners to!! I think we ended up with like 25 between all of us in my group. It was a fun trip. I going to be cooking some of them up for the guys at work tomorra night. We'll see how they turn out.

I like all lane, vermillion, and mangrove better than red snapper- taste is about the same but all three have better shoulders on the fillets.

Can't hardly beat Mangrove snappers at the Jetty Port Isabell around October.
