    Gun Value help please

I needing some info for an insurance policy /claim
    and need a little help
where is the best place to find out what a guns value is.

I know there are plenty of sites like gun broker and such but what I'm looking for is how an insurance company determines what a weapon is worth.

    Thanks in advance

Is your insurance full replacement value or depreciated?

If it's just one gun I can look it up in the gun values book. Also do a seRch on gun broker and see what the current going rate is.

It's multiple and I would prefer doing it myself , no offense but I'd rather not disclose my inventory.

Barnes and Noble carries books on gun values for 2013. It is a big thick book, you can't miss it.

If they are still in production-go to the manufacturer's website and get their MSRP. If no longer currently made, the BlueBook and GunBroker are the best places IMO. On GunBroker, the asking price is gonna be higher, but your insurance company may go into the closed auctions (advanced search option) and see what guns actually sold for. This is a truer figure as it represents what a willing seller would pay a willing buyer for a particular gun. Also, condition is a big driver in value. An old truck gun that has many miles and bumps/jolts on it is worth less than the same model that is NIB with box, and papers.

some are really old, old enough to not have serial numbers.
