Odd freaking noise made by a deer

Was watching a doe early yesterday and back behind me in the brush heard another deer make the strangest noise. Almost sounded like a scream like something had attacked it.

The doe immediately ran straight towards the noise. tail wasn't up or anything, but she hauled ***.

Then a bit latter some snorting and wheezing and didn't see her again.

Does will come to a fawn distress call. Not always but they will for sure sometimes.

I know they will come to a dying rabbit call.

Wasn't a rabbit.. Definitely a deer it seems like. Maybe a yearling that I've been seeing. Not sure why she screamed like that.

I've watched a mule deer doe jump a fence one evening and leave her fawns, they ran up and down the fence making the most god-awful, spawn of chucky calls you ever heard. Would that be a somewhat accurate description?

Yup. There has been one doe with a yearling running around. Maybe she just kicked her out
