Anyone use wireless earbuds for tv?

My old man is a bit hard to hearing. We got him the headphones a few years ago to watch tv (or the tv can be heard a hundred yards from the house) which he loves BUT they are big and he has to take them completely off if someone is talking to him. So for Xmas I was wanting to get him some earbuds so he can remove one and keep one in.
Anyone know of a good brand to buy? Thanks

We bought my grandfather a bluetooth enabled hearing aid. It can connect to his TV, house phone, and his cell phone in addition to being a normal hearing aid. I never go to his house and hear the TV blaring anymore. the only thing he isn't fond of is that it also interfaces with a handheld microphone that overrides all the sources. That is for my grandmother's use. He can't ignore her these days.

The other downside is that it was rather expensive, but has been worth it in able to be able to better communicate with him. If you're interested, I can try to dig up details.

I should have mentioned. I can't do Bluetooth as his tv isn't Bluetoothed capable.

This is pretty easy to make.

Just hook up an fm transmitter to the audio out on the TV or satillite. Get an inexpensive mini radio tune to the transmitter channel and bingo!

This is what I do when the wife is trying to sleep

They make an audio to female headphone jack adapter that you can get at radio shack

I was looking at these. Kind of pricey though
For over 75 years, our products come with a built-in mission: to stay true to the sound and soul the music was given by its artist.

This is the brand he has: http://www.oticonusa.com/product-sho.../overview.aspx

They don't require a bluetooth TV. There are modules that connect to the home phone and to the television to broadcast the signals.

It wasn't an inexpensive solution, in part because it required he get the proper hearing aids, but he was due for new hearing aids at the time. It didn't hurt that my wife worked at the hearing doc at the time, so we were able to get favorable pricing.

Nobody's got experience with the wireless earbuds that aren't Bluetooth?
