    Meat Good????!

    I shot a buck a week ago with my bow and the arrow hit hi in the back I just killed him. Is the meet good or will it be fevered. Arrow still in tact

    i would just cut out around the meat that looks messed up and eat the rest..

      how's he look? have you dressed him yet? I finished off two bucks last year that two guys shot one gut shot one through the shoulder, after cleaning the meat seemed good except for the shoulder had pus coming out so I tossed that shoulder kept the rest. I'm still alive a year later so I think you may be ok.

        Can you post pictures of the hit? It's helpful to understand where hits are actually.

            Would take a good look at the straps in that area. Better safe than sorry. Everything else should be good to go. On a side note the resilience of deer ceases to amaze me.

              I would think after you skin him out, just cut out that area and it will be fine. Doesn't look infected from the pic.

              Above the spine right through the backstap!
