    Need ideas for curing oven

So I need to build something to cure Cerakote in. I've got something that will work but I'd prefer if I could build something that'd hang it vertically. I'm thinking about getting a stack on gun cabinet and insulating it then installing some type of heating element.

Any ideas on what I can do? Not looking to break the bank on this project. Maybe $300 total.

I only need to get it to 250-300 degrees

I'd need about 40-50 inches inside to fit barreled actions and still have room to hang it.

    Any ideas??

    Thanks in advance

What about a retired smoker or one from Craigslist?

Double oven with a hole cut in the "shelf" between the ovens?

I got an electric smoker for a perfect attendance gift at work. I converted it to a gun oven with a double jacketed section of stove pipe. It will maintain 320* without issue. I think the smoker runs about $200 and the pipe was maybe $50. Took about 30 min to build and work wonderfully!

Make a plywood oven like I use to cure my bows in. Has a 165-185 degree thermostat that runs 4 bulbs. You can increase the heat with actual heat lamps and get a higher rated thermostat.
I use it horizontally but you could make it vertical just as easily.

I don't know much about these.....Is there a way to just get heat without smoke?

            I only need 250-300 degrees

Chuck's idea sounds better to me.

Heat and smoke are controlled separately. You can have heat only. I just cooked my supper tonight on one of those.

back in the day when I did GS work, we used an old metal gym locker

temp was controlled by a small heater and thermometer

I was actually thinking about doing this or that stack on cabinet.

I think I'm going with the Electric Smoker

                            Thanks TBH!

                              Probably going with this one....

It's 48" so that should be plenty big to handle anything we'll be cerakoting
