I could never shoot something and enjoy watching it crawl off and suffer. I hate them too. They tear up my feeders and run the deer off, but if I kill one it is put it down, not gut shoot it because i am too lazy to cart it off.

Thank you. Please read what it says. Dosn't say I shoot them back on purpose.

I think stalking a pack of wild hogs with a bow is as fun as a hunt yoou can get. Id rather do thst than freeze in a tree but they sure dont tast as good as deer

I might need a recipe from you!

I shoot hogs on sight, trap them and enjoy the meat. Don't keep the big boars, but I'll never toss a sow into the carcass pit.
Never hit an animal back? Judge me for doing it? Sorry, I must have expressed it as though I try and hit them back.

Thanks for the reply and happy thanksgiving!

"I kill everyone of them that I see and am pleased if I hit them back so they can slowly drag them selves off of the sendero and die".

I agree with you on killing all you see. I just don't agree with the enjoyment of making them suffer.

I've taken a couple guys in there this year to hunt 'em, bowhunters mainly, and the reaction of the hogs when they're being hunted is amazing. These hogs are all upwards and over 200 pounds now and three to eight years old. When they cross a trail we've walked in on the lead hog will immediately throw up its head and start a wide downwind circle of the stand. When it crosses our scent stream it leaves, period. No grunt, hmmmpf, exhale or nothing. The boars that follow faithfully trust the lead hog and leave also. If they don't happen to cross our trail coming in they creep in, stopping and listening and smelling for minutes at a time. The older, bigger boars don't even come in in daylight. These are hogs that have been in that pasture close to two years with no hunting pressure. I finally got a bowhunter on one the other day and his Thunderhead 100 didn't penetrate the shield enough at 15 yards to kill the beast. Fairly good blood trail and we jumped him 200 yards and two hours later. Gotta respect an animal with that much savvy.
I also think they are smart. I killed a really big heavy boar last year, It seamed like he knew when I was in the pop up or the blind. Only saw him on camera or really far away till I shot him.

Very easy just go buy some legs old plantation seasoning. One bag cost 2 bucks and makes 25lbs. Sometimes I add peppers and cheese.

If I have my bow I will shoot always, we have so many that if we shot them with a rifle we would never have deer around. We eat one every now and then, most of the time the coyotes get them, that is another problem right there.
