Irion County, Another Forked G2. Neat Story

My son shot this deer on Friday afternoon with a bow and knew he hit him high. We found no blood just some meat and a bit of hair on the arrow, he was devastated. I told him that there was a good chance that he was still alive and he vowed to hunt him with a rifle so that he could finish him. Yesterday afternoon, we went to a different feeder that we had a bunch of cam pics up and decided to corn a road in front of the feeder. We climbed up in the blind at 4:00 and at 4:05 he crossed in front of us on a trail and decided to eat a bite of corn that we had poured out, then he finished him. I think he should score pretty well and was either 6.5 or even possibly 7.5 by tooth wear. Score guesses?

The first pic shows the arrow wound.

Yes, left Saturday before it got bad. Where do you hunt in the county?

Southern part near the Schliecher/Crockett/Irion T

There are much better genetics in the northern 1/2 of the county but I couldn't bring myself to leave the ranch and people I hunt with.

                    That's a great looking buck!

Is that high-on-the-back wound in the second picture the one from the broadhead, or was that the coupe de grace?

I've had my place for 7 years now, we have been very fortunate.

This must be the year for forked G-2 bucks. A lot have hit the dirt this year. Congrats to him
