My little girl is 3 and we decided to get her a big girl bed. My wife went to Mattress one and bought a nice full mattress and box spring. She paid 790 for the mattress. I went the next day and picked it up, I asked about a bed frame. My wife said we needed one. They didn't have one but could sell me one off the floor for 50 bucks. I said sure and left.
Got home, the frame that I got from them wouldn't work with our pottery barn conversion kit so I went to take it back. Real time, 2 hrs. I went to return it and was told they couldn't except returns on any floor model items. I asked the store manager to call whoever he needed to call because I didn't need the frame and would like my return. I was told that all retail stores are the same and asked why I bought it if I didn't need it. I was told that all sales are finial. The owner of the company said this. So for 50 dollar sale, they are gonna tell a customer that just spent 790 to go to hell and we don't care. I was bothered, but really more because of the principal and lack of reason.
The lesson.. Those of us that run our own companies empower your people. Put service first, treat your customers how you would like to be treated. Don't employ people that simply state policy.
If you work for some one else...Be the one to make it right. Stand up and use your mind. Fighting for your customer should build job security for you.
I'm done. So in short. DON'T GO TO MATTRESS ONE.
