Junction/ Kimble County Hunting

I didn't get to hunt this past weekend, because I'm getting setup for a great Thanksgiving hunt with my wife and kids. This will be there first time hunting with me, and I'm so excited!

I just wanted to check in to see how the movement was this past weekend, also is anyone hunting now?

Slower and cold is all I heard from some of the guys that I hunt with. 2 decent 8s and a big hog.

We had a good weekend and saw a lot of deer. We hunt a few miles south of junction off 83 south. Shot three 10 pointers and a few doe.

Stros Ill be flying down the high way friday morning. You still at the same place?

Parents have been almost every weekend and said it has been spotty at times. Axis are moving around more now though. They have shot 6 or so already between them and friends.

Wow Josh y'all kicked some butt out their this weekend. They must have been moving pretty good. Sorry to ask are those free roaming deer?

Yes we are on a low fence ranch.

Stros yes all free range deer on a 5500 AC ranch (we have about 3000 of that) and all 3 10's should go mid 130's-145's ish . Also shot a 12 point off the same place 3 weeks ago. I didnt get a chance to go last weekend but hopefully the cold at least got them up and moving a bit more for a Turkey Day - Weekend hunt.

Yeah Im sure we will end up in roosevelt some. Ill be in my red Chevy truck. We are leaving friday in the am early.

Did y'all cut off the tarsal glands? What do you do with them?

One of the guys cut them off his. He says he has heard if they are on it can taint the meat. I've never heard that but then again he is an old school guy so maybe it's from before my time.
