Plot Watcher cameras... anyone use them recently??

Like to get a new toy... some type of plot watcher thingy. Would like to take pics every 5 - 10 seconds and play back as a video. Saw some stuff on here from couple years ago.

Has anyone used this recently? Would like to set up on some public hunting later this year to scout other areas while hunting.

Anyone have good / bad experiences with them?

    thanx,

Never used one but check the local laws before placing one on public land. Some don't allow it

Got mine a month ago and love it. Catches things you'd never see with a regular trail cam

I've had mine over a month and it takes 4500 pics a day. Battery is only down to 72%

The only bad part on mine which is a primos, is the photocell. It misses the first 20-30 min of day light or dusk if you place it near trees because it's too dark to kick it on. Other than that I am a fan. I set it on 10 sec intervals with a 16 gb card and I've had it out for up to 8 days without checking it and the batteries are still full and the card hasn't got over 40% full. It comes with software to speed up viewing. It's a pretty neat tool. Got it for 40 bucks on sale at dicks in September.

A lot of cams come with a plot watching/time lasp setting, I've used mine a few time really like it.

This one had pretty good reviews... you watch all the pictures as a video

Were you able to watch as a video or one by one.

being out several hours at a time adds up to mucho many pictures to view.

I have the Primos DPS got on sale at Dicks. Used it for about 6 weeks and just changed batteries this weekend. If does miss first 20 min often depending on light that day. It usually takes pics till too dark to see. The software to view it is a little buggy but does work to view the 1000s of pics as a movie. If you find a pic you want to keep you can rename the extension on that pic from jpx to jpg and just keep the few pics you want and delete the rest. I had probs this weekend with lens icing over here in San Angelo with all the freezing rain. Also it does better to place it a little higher and angle it down slightly. That way it doesn't get over exposed with light from sky. I always try to set it facing north so that light is behind it more. When facing south the deer where just very dark silhouettes against the bright background and you couldn't see much but that was also when it was mounted low. I am going to experiment with placing a lens "roof" to shield from rain and sky light and add some sort of reflector just under the light sensor to make it trigger sooner. I use it on public land so the plot watcher brand is too pricey to leave there. It is not ideal but overall I would buy again at $50 or less
