How early do you like to get to the stand in the morning?

It depends on where Im hunting. Right now, Im hunting IN a bedding area several monster deer are using. Ol big is coming home between 4 and 430 every morning. Yesterday I was on stand at 245 am. He got there at 407. That's not a typical situation though. Many times I get there right at day break so I can sneak in without a light.

That's insane.
When I said 2 hours before sunrise that is about 1.5 hours before you can see.
Many times you can start seeing things sooner.
I like to get there and get settled. Scent coming to stand gets a chance to go away. Then just sleep some before its time. If I know I am going hunting I'm usually up anyway and can't sleep.
I was in the stand two weekends ago and about an hour before sunrise had a buck under the stand snorting around a doe. I wasn't sure that was what it was at first till it got lighter and could see. He was there around the stand for about 30 minutes.
Takes me about an hour drive so I guess I would rather be in early than too late.
Thought I probably would be the only idiot heading out that early

I hunted somewhere last year and every morning about an hour after sunrise there would be a four wheeler drive out and drop the guys off on the stands across the fence on another lease.
I figured somebody must have overslept or something. I asked about it and the guide said those guys have been doing that for 10 yearsThey always get in the stands about 1 hour after sunrise.

I LIKE to be there 30 minutes to an hour before legal light and I usually get there in time. I have, occasionally, been late and walked in as it was starting to get lighter on the eastern horizon. On my most productive stand, the deer normally show up right at legal light or maybe a couple minutes before, so I like to be there and settled before then. That being said, I had some success on Monday morning, even after showing up a couple minutes late and seeing a deer in the kill zone as I walked up. It was still dark, but I saw his eyes reflect my flashlight so I ducked behind a tree downwind of the trail they normally leave on. I got my release on the bow and nocked an arrow, and just knelt down for a while, waiting and listening. When I stopped hearing the sounds of him eating, I slowly peaked around the tree and noticed that he was gone, so I quickly ran over and got into my brush blind, got set up with the ozone and got quiet. About 5 minutes later, he was back. Lucky for him, he was too young, but his girlfriend wasn't and she's now in my cooler, waiting to be turned into sausage tomorrow.
