    What does ground venison cost?

They messed up my deer at the processor and ground almost the whole thing into burger meat. We have eaten it twice and I do believe this is the best ground venison that I have ever tasted. I'm trying to console myself to not having any steaks by thinking that I would have to pay an arm and a leg for ground venison in the meat markets. Nobody that I know of sells it in San Angelo but I have seen it in Eden in the past and figure that some of you folks have run across it recently. I'm guessing that it is over $6 a pound. Anybody know for sure?

If I remember correctly it is against the law to sell venison unless it is farm raised. I have never seen it for sale anywhere.

I'm not talking about what it cost us hunters. I am talking about farm raised legal to sell venison.

If $8.70 is correct that deer was worth the $89.00 that I paid for the processing.

I would call it broken wallet ranch if I bought much there. Everybody needs to save that link to justify what it costs to hunt.

$8.70 is what Venison USA charges.

Whitetail deer venison is farm raised and we process the meat through our contracted producers and processors scattered throughout the mid-western United States. We control the raising and the processing methods to meet our exacting specifications; we make sure no hormones, growth additives, or animal byproducts are ever used. Never any hint of a feed lot either. Grande Natural wants to have all animals raised in a natural environment that allows for an average of 2 to 3 animals per acre of fenced-in pastureland. Hence you can order Whitetail Deer Meat today and its delivered right to your front door, nationwide every week of the year.

Hey, I was happy at $8.70 and then I see it priced at $11.00 at Broken Arrow Ranch. I still have close to $700.00 worth in the deep freeze at that price.

Haha agreed. But I bet TONS of non-hunters buy from them. Maybe I should get into the biz...
