    ORYX west of Denton

I saw a herd of oryx on 380, west of Denton, and on the north side of the highway. I think these were still to the west of the Jehovahs Witness church and Muslim cemetery

Anybody have info ? Just someone's pets or is there a HF ranch up in there ?

They are actually at the north east intersection of 380 and 156 before you cross the bridge. They are not part of a hunting operation. The place is an old horse ranch with pipe and cable fencing.

They sure are cool to look at.

That they are ! It sure took me by surprise to see big white bodies and long black horns out in the open like that. Beautiful animals for sure !

I almost got in a wreck the 1st time I saw them out there leaving Krum for my lease. I had to take a triple take to make sure they where what I saw.

A little over a year ago, I saw a group of about 10 scimitar oryx just west of FM730, in NE Wise County. That is about 14 miles as the crow flies from where you are talking about.
