my wife went to school for it and was wanting to work for free for a while and get pointers, even if it was a 2 hour drive so there far enough away from each other and still couldnt find any one that would help her.

It inexpensive and a must for anyone getting into this field. Even if you are just remotely interested in taxidermy it is worth the price of admission. If you are a taxidermist already and are not a member you are cheating yourself. We all can stand to learn a little more each year. I've never been to a convention where I didn't learn something new. And I've been at this for a long time.almost 30 yrs. The networking is phenomenal. Join and go.Last edited by PondPopper; 11-21-2013, 12:02 PM.

I would highly recomend joining the TTA as well. The convention is in Temple this year I believe. There you can see a lot of top notch work in the competition room. Supply companies will be there and most importantly there are several seminars that you can attend and learn all kinds of tips and techniques.
Where else could you rub elbows with a couple hundred taxidermist??
Best thing is practice and use plenty of reference material.
There are a couple of taxidermy magazines that contain articles that will show you step by step techniques as well. Breakthrough and Taxidermy Today.
