    Bacon grease

I absolutely love liver and onions. I cook a bunch of bacon, saute the oinions in the bacon grease and then fry the liver in what is left over, but I usually have to and veggie oil. I haven't made it in years, because my husband said he didn't like the thought of it but he liked eating mine. I almost lost my teeth a few weeks ago when he asked me to make it again.

I'm not much on frying stuff and I haven't saved or used bacon grease in a long time, but as I cooked those onions I noticed how much better they looked and cooked. Unbelievable in taste, compared to frying them in veggie oil.

Bacon grease - it si the only way to fry stuff. Now I wish I could just go buy some at the store. I also remember how my friends' grandparents would save the bacon grease in a jug next to the stove.

ahh, the memories of homemade gravy with bacon grease...

    times sure have changed.

There is a very simple solution to this.....cook more bacon!

Momma still has a canister of bacon grease on the counter. Fried eggs aint fried eggs unless they're fried in bacon grease.

If you make popcorn on the stove.....bacon grease! It's awesome.

I save all the bacon grease. A little dab in green beans with onions, along with many other dishes, mmmmmm!!!

I save mine in a metal coffee can and keep it in the fridge. I use it for lots of things like making gravy, frying cabbage, in green beans, and so much more...mmmm, I am getting hungry!

You can buy pork lard, but stay away from the shelf bought stuff because its hydrogenated. You can find pure pork lard online (and beef tallow too!)

I save my bacon grease (if there's any left when I'm through cooking everything) in an empty salsa jar in the fridge. Just do what Dale said....COOK MORE BACON!!

I use the worst looking coffee mug we have in the cabinet. Insulated so you can handle it hot, dime a dozen as my wife is a school teacher, gets a few as gifts every year.
