    Strange grackle sighting

Yesterday, while waiting to pick up my 3 grandchildren from school,I was sitting in my car next to a grassy area ,when a flight of grackles flew in to hunt for bugs.Being bored and watching them ,I decided to count[as best I could] them., as I got to 35 or so ,it dawned on me that they were all males, adult tripple tailed males......not a plain brown girl in the bunch....Whats up with that....I don't know if I have everseen that before, and I have seen a lot of grackles...any thoughts???? Do they band together during certain times???{OBVIOUSLY<THEY DO}but why????any answers from the green screen????

Sorry I can't answer you direct question....but speaking of grackles while stuck in traffic yesterday I watched one for 10 minutes try to balance himself on a mushroom. Interesting birds for sure.

I do not know a thing about grackles, but turkeys do that at this time of year. All the toms will be in batchelor groups in the winter and all the hens will be together. Deer do it also in the summer. The bucks run together in the summer, only to break up in the fall as their horns harden and the rut gets closer.

It does not really surprise me that grackles would do this also.

Social engineering. But its now not pc to question or discriminate against those of the same feather. Senate just passed a bill making it against the law, can't even question their immigration status.

They do act like turkey in the spring. All puffed up and drumming almost in front of the females. Very simular!

Not sure why but I have noticed many of these grackles have only one leg. And I have good eye sight and have seen them close up, they only have one leg. Probably see 1-2 like that each week walking to and from campus here in Austin
