That's why it pays to know a bit about the truck you own! Glad you got your second opinion as I had the same thing happen to my truck about two months ago.

Injector Pressure regulator valve. Sometimes it can get stuck shut or the screen in it can give way and cause problems. When it happened to mine I found a skinny piece of pipe and tapped on the valve a few times and it fired right up.

I did this for about a week until I got the funds together to replace it, this could save someone say a $275 towing fee if you can find something long and skinny enough to fenagle under the turbo to tap this thing a few times.

10 grand on mine spent on repairs. 2006 6.0 but it runs like a scalded ape now, but the next time it has to have major repairs I am going to burn it and buy it a new one!

If you are in the Houston area Ryan ford in Sealy has been a great dealer to work with. They are fixing my father inlaws 06 as we Speak. Heads are being fire ringed withs arp studs sct gaskets with a egr delete. This was all recommended by the dealer, now that honesty if you ask me knowing that the 6.0 is notorious for these problems.

6.0's have a terrible reputation (rightfully so for the most part) but once you bulletproof them, they are hard to beat. And this is coming from a dodge guy lol. Glad you got your truck fixed easy and cheap!

Happens all the time unfortunately. Once u get a good mechanic, stick w/ them.

If the tires, flatbed, and grill gaurd were not worth so much I'd say that was pretty close to what I would take for it at this point
I don't need that take it off and I'll give you that much. lol
