I'm in Western Illinois and am not seeing deer. I'm hunting the edge of cut corn and bean fields and the deer just aren't here. The farmer keeps telling me I need to move to a bottom behind his house that has a small clearing in it. He says they see deer working through there every day. I can stand in his back yard and see pretty much the entire bottom. Here's my question. Should I burn a hunt and sit up on the hill to try to see what the deer are doing or just go down in there and hang a stand and hunt it? It's going to be a nightmare setting up down there but if that's where the deer are I'll do it.
