Hey there guys/gals, I've recently been stationed out in Southern California on Miramar Marine Corps base. I want to starting hunting again, since I haven't the past year, but I'm not familiar with the area and would thoroughly enjoy a hunting partner. Since I'm away from "home" and don't have the means and funds to hunt big game I want to predator hunt and hunt birds if there are any in this area. If you have any information regarding any type of hunting or maybe you know someone out here who hunts I'd love to speak to them/meet up and talking hunting with them. I'm currently doing my homework with California laws and regulations and D-I-Y projects but any additional help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks y'all. Semper Fi

Check into BLM land around san bernardino county
Specifically the high desert around Morongo and yucca valley
Lots of gamble quail hunting
You can also get into chukar and mountain quail in San Bernardino national forest outside of pioneer town. 2n01 and 2n02 are great dirt roads that run from the desert to big bear and hunting is permitted
Also a decent place to put in for deer tags next that would be zone D14
It's a couple hours from you but excellent quail hunting opportunities
You might also look into new Dixie mine area and camp rock road out of Johnson valley/lucerne area
Also check into Redlands gun club
It's a trap shooting range with skeet and sporting clays. The old dudes there would probably invite you out hunting.
