Happens to people too. Probably the most dangerous part of any surgery is being put under.

Never dart without reversal ... and somebody needs to know how to monitor the situation.. costly mistakes

I guess thats a risk you take when you're dealing with man-made deer operations.

two at one time sounds like operator error.

That's what I was thinking, I just wish I could have one of those deer to go and get down with all my doe naturally, I wouldn't ever dart them lll

the problem isn't operator error or failing to monitor the deer. The problem is the drug used, Xylazine/Telazol. The Xylazine can cause problems that will kill an otherwise properly darted deer.

And it's NOT a risk they, or the deer, should have to take. The drug Domitor, used in the deer sedative BAM, is 10X cleaner and safer than Xylazine. Less than 10min down, and less than 5min back up after the reversal.

A lot of deer breeders stick to old ways when there are newer, better ways to do things. And money saved by using Xylazine just went down the toilet with those two bucks.

              A dang shame....

wouldn't that be the very definition of operator error?

I don't feel bad for them at all. I feel bad for the deer.

I was over with randy pistole in holland, he met me and Jon there so I could take a look at a Catalina cape and drop off some ducks. He had just come from MCR with the bucks so he could mount them for them.
