Heck no I'm not upset or offended. If it wasn't for the help I wouldn't have identified any of the problems that I have and would still be going crazy. I'm only frustrated in me getting suckered into buying a bow and being told all these stories and now finding out that it was all BS. Just once I'd like someone to shoot me straight and be honest and not just say something to get my money. Rocky if your shop was close I'd certainly give you my business. I just wish I could find a shop near me that was as honest.

I've had nothing but trouble with Viking of course that was when dad was there. Now that he is gone MAYBE I could give them another try...but the last time i went they said that they would not work on my bow because i did not buy it from them. I told them that I'd be glad to pay their shop rate and they still refused. Tim offered me a job but I could never get along with him so I refused.

Just frustrated with this whole situation.

Heck I've got one of those portable presses that I could do this with, but I hate putting it on it. I'd really only ever consider using it in an emergency.

Shop owners sometimes offend customers,(myself included because I'm hardheaded when I feel I'm right), and customers sometimes get belligerent and get asked not to come back. Just because you didn't but your bow there, doesn't sound like a good reason to me, but may be a consideration with your next purchase.
At some point in time, every body is gonna need a good pro-shop and there is fewer and fewer good ones due to E-bay and the box stores.
I hope bowhunters keep this in mind.
Support your local pro-shop,(the good ones that is).

Trust me I would if I had one. I've had so many problems with Viking and have given them numerous chances. But now that Tim is completely out of the picture (except the money still goes in his pocket) I might consider giving them another chance.

OK I hve the ATA @ 31.5". I have the timing marks in line with the string. I'm still only pulling 68# (unless the scale is wrong) and it is still shooting 253 or so. But everything is in spec. like it should be, so things should be looking up for me.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and info. Some I've heard and known and some I hadn't. Good to know that with the help of the "family" I can get the info and resources I need to correct a problem.

Viking wouldn't be my 1st choice either but given your local I would feel safe sending you there to see Scott, he is a good hand so ask for him if you go.

Next (due to location) would be Bowzone on Trischwig, I know the owner and hear a lot of good things about the Tech but have never used him.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Rocky, thanks for contributing your tech knowledge for everyone's benefit, it seems there are fewer and fewer really knowledgable people working on bows anymore and even fewer who are willing to share the knowledge.

            Cuddos to you.

Ok I have just got to post this. I have my bow in spec. Took it out and started sighting it in. Shot at 20 all touching...and with brand new arrows...I started aiming around the bullseye. Then went to 30 and put them all in a 3x3 square. Then for fun I went to 40 and shot a group that I could put my hand around!!! I can't say it is any faster, but it might be a hair quieter and it is definately shooting better.

              Again thanks to all!!!

Sorry got too dark for a pic so I just pulled them.

Good deal! Did it raise your sight up any?

Yes it did reaise my pins up in the sight. Now they are in the middle where they have always been. I still can't get over how great it seems to be shooting. I need to paper tune it now.

I'm almost afraid to get it sighted in too good. I can't afford all the arrows.

Shoot a 5-dot target and save the arrows.

Read the Easton tuning guide, there is a whole lot to bow and broadhead tuning after the paper tears look OK.

Saved yourself my epoxy-job. My problem was the bow was tuned and shot (and still does) shoot great, the sight was just at the very end of the bracket.

Thanks! Texbama is talking about coming by tonight and shooting with me. I'll see how she does tonight and maybe I can post some pics.

I would have to say that with all the help you got here your bow is definitely tuned now. It is very quite and that group you shot at 40 yards was tight. I enjoyed shooting with you last night and I am glad you got the bow tuned. Thanks again for allowing me to come over and shoot.

Stephen, Glad I got the help to get it tuned. Even better was having you come by and shoot. I had a great time and can't wait to do it again. I tried to send the pic to myself so that I could post it here...but my phone said the file was too big to send. It was a pretty tight group...eventually!
